Silver Lake

Last weekend, we went up to Silver Lake (up Big Cottonwood Canyon) with Dave's family. I have never been there before. It is a beautiful place! We had a nice picnic and then walked the boardwalk around the lake. It was a nice relaxing stroll, and we had a great time. It was a perfect "hike" for the kids - not too long or strenuous. They just walked along and played with their cousins along the way. There were a lot of little critters around (still not sure if they were chipmunks or squirrels or what they were), and they had fun "hunting" them, which consisting of waiting for them to come out of their holes and then watching them run for their lives when they saw a dozen kids waiting for them with sticks. Yikes. It was nice and cool, and the lake was beautiful. I'm glad someone had that great idea. We really enjoyed our afternoon at Silver Lake.

What amazing pictures! I miss the mountains! The kids look awesome! How are you doing!? I loved your post from the 4th; very well put. Glenn Beck had a good article making the same point...we have it pretty good, despite what the media would tell us.
